I grew up in Surrey, deprived of pets by my parents and apparently declaring I wanted to be a ‘doggy doctor’ aged 2. I studied Veterinary Science at The University of Liverpool and after meeting my husband at Carnatic Halls I never left. I now consider myself an adopted scouser. We are happily settled in south Liverpool with our two young daughters and Amber the fox red Labrador. I’m kept pretty busy by my girls but love travel, baking and meeting up with my friends and their dogs for nice walks. Clinically my main interests are soft tissue surgery and behaviour cases. I’m enjoying working back in Liverpool after a few years working further afield.

I grew up in Swindon and came to study Veterinary Science at the University of Liverpool. After deciding I would like to stay in Liverpool in my second year of study, I discovered Woolton Vets and joined them time and time again to gain lots of experience. I am delighted to now be working with them as a newly qualified vet. My friends and family would try and tell you that I love dogs more than I do people. Currently, I am particularly interested in dermatology and canine behaviour but who knows how this could change over the years. Outside of work I love hiking, camping and have recently picked up tennis.

I started my career working for the PDSA over 23 years ago. It was working for this veterinary charity that I learnt I had a desire to become a Veterinary Nurse. I later went on to become an Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) nurse and worked for many years for an out of hours hospital. Due to my background, I am particularly interested in emergency cases and I am passionate about ensuring that every pet that visits us has the most comfortable and pleasant stay.

I have a geriatric cat called Rupie and a cross collie/labrador called Audrey, who is my sunshine. Along with our little boy these three Amigos keep me busy outside of work.

I joined the team in September 2020 as a Kennel care assistant and quickly progressed to student vet nurse.
I have always loved animals and taking care of them, whether they are my own or not.
In work, I look after all of the hospitalised inpatients whether caring for those after their operation or helping to take blood samples. In my new role of Student Vet nurse, I am looking forward to being able to start taking the blood samples myself and getting further involved with patients and clients as my skills and knowledge grow.
My favorite part of the day is being able to cuddle all of your wonderful pets.
When I am not at work I will be down at the yard with my horses – you will probably just find me in the stable giving Millie a pamper as she doesn’t like too much exercise. I also enjoy going on long scenic walks in the countryside.

I am originally from the lovely countryside town of Leek in Staffordshire and love going back there for long walks with our beautiful Romanian rescue dog, Ernie. At home we have a cat called Rupert, Ernie the dog, three toads, two geckos, an axolotl and a tank full of fish – I don’t think there is enough space on the website to name them all!

I joined this amazing team back in September 2020.
My main passions at work are delivering exceptional customer service and practicing supportive leadership (and of course I enjoy cuddling our lovely patients). I love to help to develop teams that feel happy, motivated, respected and trusted. I feel privileged that my role here at Woolton Vets allows me to support our team members with a focus on their wellbeing. I feel lucky to have regular allocated time to have individual wellbeing catch ups with each team member, this has many benefits and is much needed, particularly within our industry. Woolton vets actively promotes team wellbeing and a good work life balance, it really is a joy to be part of such a fantastic team.

I grew up loving animals; always having cats, dogs, and budgies. At home I have a small Chihuahua with a big personality called Bowie, Bowie keeps us entertained and he gives the best cuddles. We also have a young Great Dane called Bodhi, Bodhi is very affectionate and will happily plonk himself on your knee at any given opportunity.

From leaving school I secured my first job working for Bryan McVey (Alex’s dad). After several years of study, I achieved my childhood dream when I gained my Veterinary Nursing qualification in 2002. My first management role came about shortly afterwards when I became Head nurse of the clinic. For almost 20 years, I had the honour of working alongside Bryan.

In 2022, I joined the team at Woolton vets. My role leans heavily on my passion to provide the highest standards of care to both patients and clients alike, whilst helping to create positive environments where team members can thrive and feel supported.

Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, which often involves food in some capacity! Sports wise, I enjoy cycling, playing tennis and watching football. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, although I’m far from being the next Alan Titchmarsh!
